Therapy for Women and Families: Finding Clarity, Connection, and Healing Rooted in Faith and Cultural Understanding

Individual Counseling

Therapy is a collaborative process that meets you where you are, honors what you carry, and helps you move toward clarity and change at a pace that feels sustainable. I work with women navigating emotional overwhelm, complex life transitions, generational wounds, and questions of faith and identity.

Many of the women I support appear high functioning on the outside. They manage their responsibilities, care for others, and keep going, yet often feel emotionally isolated, unseen, or chronically drained. They have learned to mask their pain and minimize their needs. Therapy offers a place to finally set that weight down and be understood.

My approach is thoughtful, integrative, and culturally responsive. Drawing on years of clinical experience, trauma training, and spiritual insight, I tailor each session to meet your unique needs. Whether you are facing a recent challenge or unpacking longstanding struggles, we work together to make sense of it with gentleness, honesty, and purpose.

This is not about quick fixes or surface-level advice. It is about exploring what lies beneath the pain and patterns so you can relate to yourself in ways that feel more grounded, compassionate, and meaningful.

Some of the issues I help with include:

  • Stress management

  • Living with anxiety, depression, or emotional numbness while appearing fine to others

  • Childhood adverse experiences affecting adult life and relationships

  • Coping with PTSD and complex PTSD

  • Navigating ties with challenging family members

  • Support through major life transitions such as relocation, divorce, or grief

  • Trauma impacting one’s relationship with faith

  • Perinatal health, postpartum challenges, and birth-related distress

  • Being a third-culture kid

  • Home and workplace burnout

  • Anger management

  • OCD and spiritual intrusive thoughts (waswasah)

  • Perfectionism and anxious high achievers

 Family Counseling

Many people come to me because they want to honor the Islamic value of silat al rahm, maintaining ties of kinship, especially with family members who are difficult to be in relationship with. Mainstream therapy can sometimes overlook this spiritual and cultural responsibility, often encouraging cut offs that may feel out of alignment with one’s faith or values.

I understand that family can be both a source of strength and a source of deep hurt. Unresolved tension, unspoken expectations, and generational wounds can quietly strain even the closest bonds. My role is to help families navigate these dynamics with compassion and honesty, without rushing toward disconnection or ignoring what truly needs to be addressed.

Family counseling offers a supportive space to bring forward what has been left unsaid, share concerns with respect, and begin the challenging but hopeful work of repair. Together, we explore healthier ways to communicate, rebuild trust, and find a path forward that protects your personal boundaries while staying true to your faith and values.

Families seek support for:
• Conflict between children and parents

• Joint family challenges and blended family difficulties
• Sibling rivalry or disconnection
• Tension with in-laws
• Marital conflict
• Differences in parenting approaches
• The impact of intergenerational trauma on current relationships
